Smile You're on Camera is an interactive book that explores the theme of surveillance. I was inspired by Johan Deckmann's work especially in regards to his Imaginary Book Titles (http://www.coolhunting.com/culture/johan-deckmann-fake-books). The way he takes books and renames them showed me the innocence and analogue style of books and then the way he completely redirects them by changing the names of these works. Charlie Brooker, the creator and show runner of Black Mirror, inspired me with the specific episode called White Bear that involved mobile phones and their cameras. The way the actors used their phones throughout the episode was so scary and raw about the way that cameras can be used and what can be filmed.
